Where were you when the attacks of September 11, 2001 happened? I was sitting in gym class when somebody came in and told us what happened. Throughout the rest of that day we sat in class and stayed glued to the televisions until we left. Except for one teacher that made us still do work, the only class in the school that had to do any. Sure, as I have gotten older I have come to a greater understanding of the events that took place but something a few months ago changed my stance completely.
I traveled to New York City this summer on vacation and rode past where the new Freedom Tower is being built and saw the memorials. I stood where people had stood, covered in soot, fallen out of the buildings, and I stood where thousands of people died, and it hit me. I was standing in line to get on the ferry for the Statue of Liberty and their was an old man playing the National Anthem on a trumpet as I was looking at the tower. It was a moving site, something that I will never forget.
Metal Delirium remembers all the fallen people, heroes, family members, friends, and loved ones that died on that day. We respect every single person that risks their life to defend our country no matter what the cause.
