Iron Maiden is #1!(Not 666 contrary to popular belief)

The Iron Maiden classic album that all metalheads are absolutely required to own, listen to, and enjoy on a regular basis has put them in a very elite class. Hell, “Number Of The Beast” has made THEM the elite class. Number of the Beast was voted the best British album of the past 60 YEARS in a poll conducted by HMV.

Let me put this in perspective, the following are albums that Iron Maiden beat:

  • Led Zeppelin – IV
  • The Beatles – ANY AND ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS FOR CHRIST SAKE
  • Black Sabbath – Selt-Titled, Paranoid,….anything else
  • Pink Floyd – AGAIN ANY ALBUM THEY MADE

This might be the crowning achievement in heavy metal, being called one of the best albums in your home country in a genre that normally gets looked down upon. Especially when the title track on the album is laced with so much apparent satanism!

It’s not like they won by a fractional amount, they won by a whopping 3%(with as many options that is a good amount.)

1. Iron Maiden / The Number of the Beast (9.18%)
2. Depeche Mode / Violator (6.30%)
3. The Beatles / Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (5.69)
4. The Beatles / Abbey Road (5.67%)
5. Pink Floyd / The Dark Side of the Moon (5.23%)
6. The Beatles / Revolver (4.01%)
7. Queen / A Night at the Opera (3.98%)
8. Oasis / (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (3.91%)
9. Adele / 21 (3.07%)
10. The Beatles / White Album (2.60%)
11. Led Zeppelin / IV (2.50%)
12. The Beatles / Rubber Soul (2.49%)
13. The Clash / London Calling (2.48%)
14. David Bowie / The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (2.38%)

About Matthew Kuritz

Born in 1989 in a small town in South Carolina, Matthew was raised on metal. His father, a huge KISS and other classic rock/metal fan and his brother wh owas raised during he hay-day of Hair Metal and Grunge, Matthew was made to do this. I digest any and all music that comes my way; not just metal. Metal for me strikes the rebellious, angry, and energizing nerve that no other music can. Metal has the most talent, most feeling, and most power than any kind of music. I am always up for discussing anything and everything involving metal and other music.
