Proposal: A Remake of “We’re Stars” for the Stand Up and Shout Charity!?

It could be possible. It could be the ultimate tribute to Dio, it’s widely accepted as one of his crowning achievements. Think about it, some of the best and brightest stars in metal today singing and playing alongside their idols and legends of the industry. It’s possible, in thought. But in today’s world where everything is money driven and record companies are dictators, it’s not plausible. It’s a good thought, and interesting concept, but not possible. Don’t get me wrong I would love to come back here in a year and say I WAS WRONG but I don’t see it happening. Anyway, here would be a small proposed lineup of today’s more popular bands and classic bands that would fit the mold of the song:

*I tried not to include “screams” and “growls” because I don’t see it fitting in the song. I picked singers that we all know can sing clean.

Vocals:

Corey Taylor – Slipknot

Ripper Owens — Everything

Mikael Akerfelt – Opeth

Bruce Dickinson – Iron Maiden

James Hetfield  – Metallica

M. Shadows – Avenged Sevenfold

Matt Heafy — Trivium

Joey Belladonna – Anthrax

Matt Tuck – Bullet For My Valentine

Stu Block – Iced Earth/Into Eternity

Rob Halford – Judas Priest

Guitar:

Corey Bealiu — Trivium

Jim Root — Slipknot

Mick Thompson — Slipknot

Synyster Gates – Avenged Sevenfold

Yngwie Malmsteen

John Petrucci – Dream Theater

Michael Romeo – Symphony X

Dave Mustaine/Chris Broderick — Megadeth

Kirk Hammet – Metallica

Scott Ian – Anthrax

About Matthew Kuritz

Born in 1989 in a small town in South Carolina, Matthew was raised on metal. His father, a huge KISS and other classic rock/metal fan and his brother wh owas raised during he hay-day of Hair Metal and Grunge, Matthew was made to do this. I digest any and all music that comes my way; not just metal. Metal for me strikes the rebellious, angry, and energizing nerve that no other music can. Metal has the most talent, most feeling, and most power than any kind of music. I am always up for discussing anything and everything involving metal and other music.
