Random Acoustic Metal

So I was browsing through YouTube today. Not getting much metal news in my RSS feed that I felt like talking about so I started looking up acoustic metal performances. Now alot of people don’t think metal should be acoustic. Yeah, fuck them. I remember an old quote where Paul Stanley said something to the affect of “If it doesn’t sound good acoustic, then their is no way it will sound good electric.” So let’s delve into some acoustic stuff…

Machine Head – Die Young

Not only is it fucking brilliant, but the performance is emotional for Robb Flynn. Pictures of his family and friends. Not to mention he sounds absolutely amazing vocally. Proof to my point that when he really wants to sing he is one of the best in metal.

Trivium – Built to Fall

Now i’ve never said that Matt Heafy’s clean vocals were anything spectacular. But in this video he sounds probably the best that anything live Trivium has ever done. Not to mention the Paris back drop adds the nice sense of atmosphere.

All That Remains – Two Weeks

I don’t think All That Remains should perform acoustic anymore. Phil Labonte just doesn’t know how. Dude, don’t sing the song like you are screaming over fucking electric guitars/bass/drums.

Corey Taylor – Spit It Out(Slipknot Cover)

This is just fucking hilarious. It proves that Corey really has a sense of humor. Not to mention that it has a really cool folk vibe, something completely different than what you would expect any song by the Knot to sound like.

Matthew Kuritz

About Matthew Kuritz

Born in 1989 in a small town in South Carolina, Matthew was raised on metal. His father, a huge KISS and other classic rock/metal fan and his brother wh owas raised during he hay-day of Hair Metal and Grunge, Matthew was made to do this. I digest any and all music that comes my way; not just metal. Metal for me strikes the rebellious, angry, and energizing nerve that no other music can. Metal has the most talent, most feeling, and most power than any kind of music. I am always up for discussing anything and everything involving metal and other music.
