The Barren Wasteland of South Carolina Metal

Does anybody else live in South Carolina? How about the Myrtle Beach area? Do you know what music we are famous for? Hundreth and Firehouse! Nobody knows the story of the best band ever to hit Myrtle Beach, Sqwearl, which you can check out on ReverbNation.

My grievance is with the Myrtle Beach House of Blues. I look at so many tour schedules that come out and I see venues all over the United States and most of the time every single House of Blues except the Myrtle Beach location? Why is that? Because the music scene in Myrtle Beach is TRASH. GARBAGE. BULLSHIT. You see I have been to pop-punk, classic rock, heavy metal, thrash metal, prog metal, death metal, metalcore, and deathcore shows at the venue and you know what I saw? A bunch of moshing to acoustic songs and emo ballads. Why? Because the area only cares about DEATHCORE. Myrtle Beach is a breeding ground for high school whores and testosterone driven boys that want to fuck and fight.

Another problem is that we get so many artists that go to Georgia or North Carolina instead of us. We have three or four large arenas that could house a major artist and hundreds of small bars and clubs that would love to get some artists in. Nobody wants to come to our state. We reach out to bands, tell them how great the scene is and so many people say “oh yeah we love that state”….they don’t come. Citizens of South Carolina, WHAT SAY YOU? Reach out and help get better music into our state!

About Matthew Kuritz

Born in 1989 in a small town in South Carolina, Matthew was raised on metal. His father, a huge KISS and other classic rock/metal fan and his brother wh owas raised during he hay-day of Hair Metal and Grunge, Matthew was made to do this. I digest any and all music that comes my way; not just metal. Metal for me strikes the rebellious, angry, and energizing nerve that no other music can. Metal has the most talent, most feeling, and most power than any kind of music. I am always up for discussing anything and everything involving metal and other music.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your comments and maybe it is sarcasm. Why would you try to get bands to come here if you claim MB is a breeding ground for high school whores and testosterone driven boys that want to fuck and fight.
Because the music scene in Myrtle Beach is TRASH. GARBAGE. BULLSHIT! How do you expect bands to come here if you trash the area with bullshit comments? You were born in 1989? You were in diapers and shitting all over yourself when the best music in MB was being played. Sounds to me you are not qualified to say anything regarding MB music b/c you are still a baby at 21 year old and you missed out on the best music generation since the 60s. Go blow smoke up someone else’s ass newbie
