What a Surprise Johnny Craig…well, not really

Recent reports are stating that former Emarosa and current Dance Gavin Dance vocalist, Johnny Craig, was arrested earlier this week in or around Vacaville, California for multiple drug-related charges.  Solano County police records show that he was booked for these drug charges that included two felony accounts of narcotics possession and a misdemeanor related to possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

He is officially being held for two counts of illegal drug use, two counts of possession of narcotics, and one count of failure to appear. His bail is currently set at $15,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, October 21, at 1:30pm at the Fairfield Superior Courthouse.  At this time he is still incarcerated with no set release date.

What does this mean for the future of Dance Gavin Dance?  If they’re smart they’ll do just like Emarosa by kicking him out and getting a swift replacement.  Johnny Craig is one hell of a vocalist, but he can’t hold his shit together and control his addictions to be worth a damn to any band.  I’ve never personally seem him live, but I’ve watched a ton of live footage from his solo career, Dance Gavin Dance, and Emarosa.  He sounds terrible live 90% of the time because he’s just out of control.  Not to mention he’s an arrogant asshole who’s so full of himself he thinks he’s practically untouchable.  Tell that to your cell mates, Johnny.

I’d like to see him get his life straight and get on the right path.  I honestly do like him as a vocalist.  He’s got a lot of work to do before he can tap back into his potential though.  With his long list of fiascos this news really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.  Keep an eye out as we keep you updated on this story.
